Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Umm, I think the open date line should read: "Cincinnati, Dallas, Washington, Tampa Bay". The Pats and Jets both play this week.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
This is the week, I think, where we find out if the Giants will win the NFC East or not.
I have a bad feeling about this...
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Vegas seems to agree with your feeling. As good as the Giants have been playing, you'd think they'd be at least a TD better than us on a neutral site - but the Eagles are a 3 point favorite at home. The smart guys seem to be daring you to bet the Jints. It's not usually a good sign (for you, in this case) when Vegas does something that's "obviously" wrong.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
The giants are built to handle the run with their front seven and rush the passer with their front four. Because of this the back seven can hold up decently in pass coverage. (don't have to sacrifice coverage to handle the run or the pass rush)
But because McNabb can get the ball out on time they can force the Giants to back seven to play coverage. It also seems that the Giants linebackers are better against powerful runners rather than elusive runners, where Westbrook is easily one of the best in the league.
I'd still take the Giants and the points though

Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Is it just me, or does Donte Stallworth run harder than Ryan Torain?
Also, seeing that Brandon Marshall "block" makes me wonder what would happen if the Broncos ran to his side against the Cowboys with Mike Jenkins standing over him. Remember the scene from Braveheart, when the Irish and Scottish are fiercely charging at each other, only to stop and shake hands? I think it would be a lot like that.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
I think it's just you, but if you only saw the 1st quarter, that opinion is understandable. He did look tentative. His later runs were a lot better.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
The Broncos have a good offense, but the Browns defense is simply unspeakable. They've blown a 14-point fourth quarter lead and allowed 21 points in the fourth quarter. Kee-rist.
"A little celery is always nice after a good pee."
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
What the hell was Marshall going to do after that TD in the 4th? It looked like he pulled something out of his pants (a marker?) and then Stokely ran over and told him no, probably to avoid a penalty late in the game. Any ideas?
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
It was a black and white glove. Ebony and ivory, you know.
Packers Rushing Defense
For anyone who follows the Packers closely, what's up with that ridiculous Rush (31) vs. Pass (2) defense differential? Is it driven by their strengths talent-wise? Is it a defensive philosophy? Is their D-line hobbled by injury? It can't be all that successful given all the points they give up and their mediocre record. Just curious
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Whiskey,
I don't know if you're just thinking out loud, but your questions are very intriguing. In my humble opinion, Green Bay just gives up way too many big plays, and don't seem to tackle well at the line of scrimmage. If A.J. Hawk isn't going sideline to sideline tracking down ball carriers, it's all she wrote.
Hawk's teammate Brady Poppinga isn't the run stuffing strong side LB he was two years ago. Moreover, despite having two aggressive shutdown corners in Al Harris and Charles Woodson, who aren't shy about run support, their safeties are more pass oriented than run stoppers.
To me, the Pack needs to tackle better, and find an eighth player who can crash the line of scrimmage every now and then. One last thing they can do is reinforce their league leading turnover causing ability. Did you see how many picks those guys dropped against the Titans? The pass that bounced off of Atari Bigby's chest was classic, though it must be noted that he was just returning from injury.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
This didn't make Extra Points, but another week, another ridiculous fine against a Steelers defensive player.

Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
i haven't had a chance to see any panthers games this season, but does anyone have any impression of carolina safety charles godfrey?
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Godfrey's been decent, but he *has* had rookie lapses. Two sacks, no forced fumbles or interceptions.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Apparently the Bills head coach wanted to challenge a catch by Welker, but the officials didn't notice the red flag. Don't the coaches have a buzzer for those occasions?
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
The refs still love the Pats even though Brady isn't around.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
The buzzer was abolished years ago.
(Formerly "The McNabb Bowl Game Anomaly")
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Nice opening drive from Vikings. only had to go 40 yards after line drive punt from GB. Rodgers had a chance for a huge pass on their first series, but missed his guy due to pressure.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
and now two sacks as the Vikings force another 3-and-out. RIght now looks good for Vikings... but I've always considered McCarthy to be much better at in-game adjustments than Childress. Will see if that plays out...
Pats Game
The Patriots game is already absolutely disgusting. What is the deal with the refereeing and the Patriots? One drive and already three terrible calls all going the Patriots way. Do they really think this is what the rest of the country wants to see? They should do themselves a huge favor and stop showing Patriot games on national television. It's an embarrassment to the league. All this does is make the rest of the country loathe the Patriots more and just add confirmation to what most of us suspected, that the Patriot success the past 7 years has been the product of the NFL's marketing department.
Re: Pats Game
Hey, at least the refs are consistent...they just failed to call anything when the Pats ran into the Bills punt returner who had called for a fair catch. I was wondering if it was just my anti-Pats bais seeing those calls, but from reading here, I guess I have company in my observations. So, at this point, we've got (weak late-hit call when a DB pops Moss after a pass slips through Moss' hands, a catch call that was clearly out-of-bounds, and a no-call on running into a punt returner ona fair catch). No wonder BB looks like a genius.
Re: Pats Game
You forgot the refs missing Jauron's attempt to challenge on Moss' catch. The referring has been slanted towards the Pats.
With that said, the Bills' playcalling has also been horribly slanted towards the Pats favour, so the refs are a moot point.
(Edit: The call on the onside kick was horrible as well. They initially called it for the Bills, then they reverse it for no reason and they claim that the replay also shows the Bills touched the ball first even though it at worst is not clear, and at best shows the Patriots touching the ball first.)
Re: Pats Game - onside kick call
Just finished watching it on Tivo, and it is *very* clear, in frame by frame advance on 60" HDTV, that the ball hits the left wrist of Bills player number 38.
Re: Pats Game
I read your post, and I think you could really just say it in one word instead of an entire paragraph: "Waaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!"
Re: Pats Game
And yet I find it interesting that there are two people making those observations and only one person protesting.
Favorable calls for the Patriots are nothing new.
Re: Pats Game
Losers always whine about the refs or umpires. You sound like a bunch of little girls. Pats win, Bills lose. Quit your baby crying and own it.
Re: Pats Game
You've stunningly lifted the level of discourse. I wish I'd had your enlightened view before I logged on. It would have made me a better person.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
no sooner do I post that than Frerotte throws a pick and the Packers drive right down the field for an easy score. 7-7, end of 1.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Am I the only one who saw Hope right foot out of bounds while coming down with the INT ? Amazing play by C.Finnegan nonetheless.
Scaife makes a great catch but damn, extend those arms over the pylon ! Bo thought he would just step in easily, didn't, and on the next play, forced fumble by the Chicago D...
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
I wasn't sure on that matter. I thought it was possible, but I couldn't tell from one look.

Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
The Bills might want to work on their red zone playcalling if they want to be taken seriously.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Aaron Rodgers fumbles ball (it was hit) in end zone, runs after it and gets a hand on it and as he's diving to the ground flings it blindly downfield. Intentional Grounding Called for safety. Rodgers claimed he was trying to get it to someone, but replays make it hard to believe he was doing anything other than flinging it away. Probably the best of the possible results from that spot anyway. Lucky it wasn't recovered the other way or the wild fling intercepted.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
KCW watch - Blackmon fields a punt one yard deep into his own end zone, and decides to bring it out. He makes it to the 11. A holding call brings it back to the 5½ yard line.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
3 TDs in the first half for MJD. He's absolutely destroying the Lions. It's depressing to think that a team starting Daunte Culpepper after he's been with the team less than a week still probably has a better offense than they do defense.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Green Bay gets ball at own 10 with under a minute left, calling timeout to give themselves time, trailing 12-7. Jared Allen sacks Rodgers in end zone for second safety of the half. Can't remember last game with two safeties.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Two safeties? Heck, two safeties in the first half!
Utterly boneheaded move by the Packers, and Rodgers in particular. Less than a minute left and you're inside your own 10 yard line. Run the ball, drain the clock, go into halftime. Stupid playcalling.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
The Haslett honeymoon appears to be over .... Jets 40 (!), Rams 0 at the HALF!
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Vikings then call timeouts after the safety, throw a pick leading to a GB Field goal. 14-10, half.
Titans-Chicago
Could someone please explain Bears offensive playcalling in this game?
They start up with poor field position and somehow decide to, again, let Rex throw it on first down even though Matt Forte averaged 5 YPC in the first half.
Re: Titans-Chicago
I think they are just trying to establish some kind of passing game...any kind of passing game. Other than the first drive, Rex has been absolutely horrible. Dare I say it, Caleb Hanie? He couldn't possibly be any worse.
Oh yeah, it is now snowing in Chicago.
Re: Titans-Chicago
Replying to myself...what's even worse is that Grossman has had open receivers this half with time to throw. Every pass is off-target. Even the announcers have stopped making excuses for him.
Re: Titans-Chicago
*sigh* I'm afraid this is as close to a Caleb Hanie sighting as I'll get. I hope his professional career lasts longer than Bradlee Van Pelt's!
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
In terms of viewing the league from a FO perspective, is it possible that the Packers are single-handedly the most disappointing team thus-far? If they lose this game, they'll be a pitiful 4-5. Since doom was predicted for the Cowboys in PFP2008 (and since they're over .500 after playing 3 games without their starting QB), the Chargers seem like the only other candidate. I dunno. The Chargers are bad, but the Packers seem more disappointing.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
With less than 100 yards of offense on the day, Green Bay takes the lead after trailing by 11 with an interception return and a punt return.
VIkings offense playing scared now.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Green Bay punt return TD. At the end of this game, Vikings fans will rush the field and set every player on the special teams unit on fire. What horrific tackling. The Vikes had a load of players who could have made a play, and Blackmon just wandered through the middle of them and scored.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Fair catching a punt on the 5? This is getting ridiculous for the Vikings. If it wasn't for Adrian Peterson, this would be UGLY.
I'd also like to point out that I have the GB defense sitting on the bench for two fantasy leagues, having taken AZ against SF and Jacksonville vs. Detroit instead. I'm going to call file this in the "bad idea" column.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
argh.
Vikings have 3rd and 1, Taylor comes up well short. They line up to punt, Peterson is livid and Childress then challenges the spot, more as a means of using timeout. Peterson now gets the ball, rumbles over left side... but drops the ball as he does so. Green Bay ball (they're sorting it out, but even if vikings recover they can't advance).
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
This game is over... Vikings thoroughly demoralized, now Grant, who seems to have run on one one but the Vikings this year, is pounding it, they're in easy FG range already. He rips off consecutive 10+ yard runs.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
This game turned when the Vikings, up by 11, took over after a bad punt at the Green Bay 35. They could only gain 4 yards, then missed a field goal. From that point they've done nothing right, apart from a few Peterson runs that were corralled before a homerun and resulted in 0 pts.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Phantom hold keeping the Vikes in it.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
If you are going to run to pick up the first down on 2nd and 1, don't get cute with 3 wide and an empty backfield. The resulting 3 yard loss on Matt Forte pretty much killed the Bears comeback attempt.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Best part of that play: Grossman audibled into that run. In addition to missing wide-open receivers for 2-1/2 quarters, he calls the play that effectively loses them the game. He made Orton several million dollars today.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
What a stupid challenge by the Packers. If they win, they potentially screw themselves out of a chance to win. Having lost the challenge, they lose an important time out. Lose-lose.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
I am not watching the game but let's get this straight - in the opening minute and a half the Raiders have fumbled the kickoff, blown a TO and conceded 7 points? It's gonna be a long afternoon.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Are you kidding me???
after Peterson wills vikings to go ahead TD, Rogers throws a pass into helmet of a viking defender, ball caroms downfield 10 yards to donald driver who hauls it in at the minnesota 40. Almost FG range already.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Packers then don't move ball, attempt 52 yarder... which is just (and I mean just) wide right.
Vikings somehow win this. Peterson... wow.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Odds of a three way tie of 5-5 teams atop the NFC North next week? Packers likely get a Grossman-led Bear team and the Vikings travel to Tampa Bay.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
The Steelers are just setting me up before they break my heart. Good start though.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
I hope McCarthy doesn't escape criticism for his Cowardly Lion level playcalling at the end. You're set up for a 58 yard field goal and you're satisfied with two runs and a 2 yard pass to reduce it to a 52 yard field goal? Pathetic. This is where TMQ would rattle on about coaches calling games to avoid blame (as in, if an attempt at a first down resulted in a turnover).
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Tyler Thigpen looked like one the worst quarterbacks in the history of the NFL about a month and a half ago. Now, he leads his team 95 yards down the field and throws a TD pass. He's looked good for a few weeks. Has someone checked for a goatee? Is he alternate universe evil Tyler Thigpen or something? What the hell happened to this guy?
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
It would be nice to see the Steelers line pick up a blitz at some point this season.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Milkman- he was obviously not prepared (coaching? nerves?) for his first appearance.
I think he's going to be decent. Not a star, but a decent QB.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Hmmm changing coordinators hasn't fixed the Chargers defense. They're making Thigpen look like a future hall-of-famer....
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
I long for the days when BRoeth wouldn't randomly throw INTs to get the opposing team back into the game. Those were good times.
It seems like the Steelers blitzers are getting mugged on every play. I wish the Steelers o-line were smart enough to do the same thing.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
I don't get to see a lot of the Raiders in DC, but I saw De'Angelo Williams' long touchdown during the halftime show and Asomugha was clearly covering Steve Smith...on the RIGHT side of the field. Is Oakland going to go to a "Nnamdi on the #1 at all times" scheme? This could have huge fantasy implications!
Those Effin Patriots
A year ago I left this wonderful site because the viral whining of Pats haters was bringing the whole thing down. I check back in today to see if things had changed at all in the light of Brady's injury and the team's obvious struggles. Nope. Not at all. As I said once before, kids, if you think the NFL has all the integrity of pro wrestling, why do you even bother watching? Truly pathetic.
Re: Those Effin Patriots
Folks pointing out three ref mistakes in the first quarter of the nationally televised game, all favoring the same team, is actually "the viral whining of Pats haters"? I didn't know there was a psycho-babble term for observations.
On closer inspection, you might notice that the complaints were toward the refs, not the Pats, but instead go be a martyr if it helps you through the day. The real problem here is with folks like you -- No one can criticize anything Patriot without being deemed some kind of psycho with a complex as opposed to someone watching with a critical eye.
Re: Those Effin Patriots
To be fair, Morganja is a psycho with a complex, so you can see where he made the mistake.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Jake Delhomme is 7-27 for 72 yards with 4 interceptions, yet the Panthers are still winning in the fourth. All he does is win.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Wow, Steelers stuffed on three straight 1-yard runs into end zone, so they're going for the figgie to break the tie.
Wait, a penalty? Delay of game on offense.
ETA: Steelers get the FG anyway after an 8+ minute drive.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
this indy/pitt game reminded me of this:

Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Gus Johnson is amazing. We must clone him and put him on every game.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
I cannot believe Carolina is winning. How is that possible?
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Holy poo. I love Herm.
I don't remember the last time I saw someone do the big balls thing with the two point conversion and not make it. Onside kick is recovered by SD, and it's game over.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
The refs made a colossally bad PI call on Hart to give the Chiefs a first and goal at the one. And, incredibly since we are talking about the Chefs, they convert. However, because we ARE talking about the Chefs, the fail on the two point conversion. Chargers lead 20-19 with 23 seconds to play. Great googily moogily.
"A little celery is always nice after a good pee."
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
I was completely shocked (okay, maybe not) that Herm decided to go for it there instead of taking the XP and going to OT. Ay Carumba.
"You PLAY to WIN the GAME!"
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
I want to see what TMQ will say about the descision. He's always saying that the Football Gods favor the bold, but clearly it didn't work out for Herm. On the other hand, imagine what would have happened had the Chiefs converted, it would have been twice the Chargers lost that way in one season.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Just adding that the call was indeed as horrid as you thought it was.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Anyone else a bit dazed still from Atlanta's essential shut-down of the Saints offense? That one still has me scratching my head.
Jake Delhomme killed me in fantasy this week by the way. But of course, so did Chris Johnson, Owen Daniels, Braylon Edwards, Kenneth Darby, and Pit defense.
Wow Chris Johnson got trashed on that one Bears blitz. Who knew Kerry Collins would be able to rally the Titans to another win? Collins gets my nomination for this year's Trent Dilfer.
The Jets absolutely brutalized the Rams today. So much for Jim Haslett being the answer in St. Louis.

Re: NewXpert
You get beat up a lot when you go out?
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Notwithstanding what Vegas is saying about this game, I just don't have a good feeling about my Eagles tonight....
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
INTERCEPTED! YES!!!!!!
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Trickeration to start the game...direct "Wildcat" snap to DeSean Jackson for the TD! Woo!
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Holy cow. Is that a Wild Eagle for the TD? I'm expecting the Eagles to start faltering at some point in the middle of this game and the Giants to pull ahead and stay there, but I'd love to be wrong!
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
The Wild Eagle...I like that!
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
so should we just call the 'wildcat' formation plays after the team, i.e., the 'wild eagle' and so forth? although the 'wild thigpen' does have a nice ring to it...
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Shit. What a shocker - TD pass to Burress. He beats the Eagles every time. Ugh.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
I was thinking to myself - 3rd down and long, in the red zone, that's a TD. I haven't checked the stats but subjectively it seems we give up a lot of 3rd down TDs, more than we get sacks or stuffs.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
&%&%&%%&^*&^*^*^@@@!!!!!!!
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Now I remember why I hate watching these games. This is rapidly going to turn into a bloodbath if the Eagles can't get it together.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Great catch by Boss between the two Eagle LBs. I would put money on LJ Smith not only not catching that but it being intercepted, if he were in the same situation.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
And here come the boos.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
well, we know how this story usually plays out: first half spent going 3 or 4&out from the Eagles offense while the Eagles D gets pounded, game over after 3 quarters despite a late TD for the Eagles.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Unfortunately you are right.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Oooh, big fumble recovery by Mike Patterson!
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Win a 3 city tour with Nickleback? I'm never using my Citi card again.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Gah, I saw that interception coming the whole way. Ugh, ugh, ugh.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Hey, LJ Smith catches a pass!
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
There's that fade to Hank!
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
What a dumb rule. Eli was clearly over the line, but because the back of his ankle was behind the line, it's not an illegal forward pass?
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
NBC drew the red line too far back. The first down marker is exactly on the 10 yard line; they drew the red line a full foot beyond the 20-yard line.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
It looks like one of the things that makes Jacobs such a beast these days is his vision, he's seeing the cutback opportunity really well, I've lost count of how many times he's made a cut in the face of a wall of Eagles defenders to get an extra 4-5yds.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Teams sure seem to be going for two a lot more often this year.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
I was worried for a moment, but then I remembered it's the unique Andy Reid brand of clock management.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Or running into the line repeatedly.
Reminds me of Emerson's saying about a foolish consistency...
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
why is the line of scrimmage not the same as the goal line
(ie, a plane that need only be broken)?
nfl rules seem so arbitrary, like nobody ever sat down and
looked at them as a whole.....
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
The Giants may not have a sack (yet) but they have had great penetration on almost all the Eagles running plays tonight, just awful run blocking and great run blitzing combining time after time. To my eye it's been the Eagles B gaps (Guard<->Tackle right?) that have been violated repeatedly.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
And with a win next week, the Cowboys will once again be alive.
The trick will be getting that win next week. And hoping the Bucs and Falcons lose.
Chances the NFC South has 3 Playoff teams?
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Does anyone watch this thread anymore?
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
So, this Cardinals/Niners game is as popular as I'd expect.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
In general the volume on the discussion boards has gone down.
Steve Breaston?
Did anyone see Breaston coming before Boldin got hurt? I never really paid attention to the Cards the last few years, and all of a sudden he's a beast!

Good counter-drive to the Cardinals' scoring drive though...
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
San Fran can't get any pressure on Warner even with five rushers.
Six rushers on the last play and Warner hits the tight end with a roughing the passer. I would keep hitting Warner until he starts panicking.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
I swear that Cardinals blitzer is offsides every play.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Shaun Hill throws a horrible Pick-6, but it's called back on a defensive penalty, Adrian Wilson lined up on the neutral zone. Two plays later, the Shaun Hill fumbles when he's run into by his own lineman. Now the teams exchange penalties as the Cards "try" to score. This is NFC West football, all right.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
The Cards are one of the top teams in football.
And Correante's crew has been incompetent.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
He is, the refs are trying their hardest to give this game to the Cards. Roger Goodell must really hate the Niners for some reason.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Well he is screwing up both ways. They'll call something ticky-tack and then let something ridiculous go. That in addition to throwing a flag on multiple plays in a row and picking them up. Dr. Z. must be upset at the pace.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
These flags on picks are giving me multiple heart attacks.
What a horrible call.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
WHY DO YOU THROW A PASS INTERFERENCE CALL AND THEN SAY IT NEVER HAPPENED AFTER THE CHALLENGE???!!!

Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
That was an INSANE game.
I don't think I've ever seen so many conferences between officials or flags picked up. What the hell was going on there?
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
That's what pissed me off the most. That crew needs to be broken apart and sold for spare parts.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
A Cards/49ers game had no right to be that exciting.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
I'm starting to come around to the idea that the NFL is a rigged as Pro Wrestling. There was something seriously weird going on with the calls in this game.
Also, any coincidence that every team in the league is busting out trickeration and the Wildcat after Brady goes down for the year?
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
Yes. The NFL is rigged. To allow the high-profile, fan-adored, merchandising machine known as the Arizona Cardinals to win a game against a horrible 49ers team.
Gee, that sounds plausible.
Re: Week 10 Open Discussion Thread
I don't know what went on either, except the Cards did their best to give the game away by avoidable penalties. The niners shouldn't have even been in it at the end. Yet they also should have won it at the end. As "B" said, NFC West football.
Don't call me a homer. I'm a Chiefs fan.
Benjamin Light may be wrong, but if the officiating in the NFL doesn't improve, there will be a lot more people sharing his suspicions.
